Students will learn social development through physical activity and access to a physically-active lifestyle.
Students will understand the relationship between physical activity and health throughout the lifespan.
Key Goals:
Motivate students to strive for lifetime personal fitness with an emphasis on the health-related components of physical activity.
Teach students about the process of becoming fit as well as achieving degree of fitness within the class.
Opening:
Book work (vocabulary, chapter reviews, journals)
Warm up/Stretch (kinetic or static)
Teach safety, rules, and vocabulary and discuss sportsmanship
Procedures:
Teach drills, skills, technique and proper movements
Practice drills, skills, technique and proper movements
Stress proper vocabulary
Create workouts and supervise
Assessment:
Chapter quizzes and tests. Quiz on rules, technique and vocabulary.
Demonstrate rules, technique, skills, vocabulary, procedures and sportsmanship in a game setting.
